Dengue Fever in Singapore

Two areas of Singapore have been affected by a spate of dengue fever infections. Since 12 Apr (2012), 53 people living in Ang Mo Kio (north east region), Avenues 5 and 10 have caught the viral disease. The cases are from 19 housing blocks in the area. The National Environment Agency report that the outbreak is the largest so far this year (2012).  

Advice for Travellers

Travellers should be aware of the risk of dengue fever and be advised to use personal protection methods to avoid mosquito bites.
