Hepatitis A in Bulgaria

An outbreak of hepatitis A has been reported in Sofia in the west of Bulgaria. In the past week, a total of 58 cases of hepatitis A were admitted to hospital. The source of the outbreak is not mentioned in this report.

Hepatitis A vaccine is usually recommended for travellers to Bulgaria. Travellers should also pay attention to personal hygiene and food safety.
